Clubs

Biathlon Saskatchewan encourages the development of clubs to deliver recreational and competitive biathlon programming.  Clubs are managed by enthusiastic volunteers who love the sport and are willing to provide their time and experience to grow the sport.  Please join and volunteer with one of the following clubs:

Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic

Through community engagement, sustainable facilities and quality programming, Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic (QVN) strives to cultivate biathlon and Nordic skiing programs that develop athletes of all ages and abilities in a supportive and welcoming environment while fostering a deep appreciation for outdoor recreation. Located in the scenic town of Lumsden, just 35 km northwest of Regina, QVN offers over 5 km of groomed trails and a top-quality biathlon range equipped with automated targets.

We provide year-round programming led by our dedicated and certified coaches. Our Air Rifle Program (ages 8–11) and Youth Program (ages 12–19) run at least twice a week—on Sundays and Wednesdays—through the fall and winter seasons. Our Masters Program meets on Saturdays and is perfect for adults looking to stay active and improve their skills.

River Ridge Nordic calls the River Ridge Trails (just outside Langham, SK) home.  The club encourages members to enjoy all things winter, and the facility boasts a fantastic network of cross-country ski trails, snowshoeing trails, fat bike trails and an epic toboggan hill.  In addition to its Jackrabbit and Track Attack programs, River Ridge Nordic also offers a Biathlon Bears program utilizing EcoAims optical biathlon equipment.  Check out our website to learn more about us and our programs, or find us on Facebook or Instagram.  Questions?  Reach out to us by email at riverridgenordic@gmail.com.

ESTERHAZY BIATHLON CLUB

Esterhazy Biathlon Club was started around 2016 by Tom who wanted to share his love of the sport to others in the area. In the later part of 2022; we added a second coach to expand our club and offer more knowledge to our athletes. One of our main goals is to share our love, knowledge and introduce this Olympic sport to others. In hopes to host a Biathlon Sask race next season (2025-2026), we are very excited to be working on upgrading our range and adding more ski trails.

As a mixed age group who meets as much as possible during the winter months, we will provide a safe and fun filled environment to all boys, girls, men and women of all ages.

If you have any questions or want more information; Contact Tom Landine @ 306-740-8880 or check out our Facebook page Esterhazy Cross Country Ski Club

South Saskatchewan Wildlife Association (SSWA) Biathlon

Our Moose Jaw club was formed by the South Saskatchewan Wildlife Association in the fall of 2010 to participate in the Saskatchewan Winter Games, hosted in Moose Jaw. One of our many goals is to provide exposure to one of the most exciting Nordic sporting events - biathlon.  We also endeavour to provide exposure to competition rifle shooting. Our membership will have access to recreational or competitive activities, coaching and competitions. We will develop and deliver a high quality of skiing and shooting coaching. We will provide a safe and fun environment for girls and boys.  For more information contact Curtis Nord borntohunt70@gmail.com.

Hudson Bay Ski Club

The Hudson Bay Ski Club includes both Nordic Skiing and Biathlon. We are a fledgling Biathlon Club though with one coach, 3 adult supporters and 5 young biathletes. Although we have not participated in any camps or competitions since before COVID, we are trying to build interest within our club. We maintain the Pineview Ski Trails in the Regional Park which includes classic and skate with 2 warm up shelters. Biathlon members pay $40 to join the club and an additional $25 to take part in the Biathlon Program. All equipment is provided by the club with help from Biathlon Saskatchewan.
