Relay Format Sprint Race (extra bullets allowed) Sunday Feb 12 10:00 zero (wiener roast and prizes early afternoon)
All categories to be included from air rifle to masters (Advil class). Novices will be accommodated at all levels. Parent Volunteers are welcomed as the season of illness, holidays and other sports’ conflicts have reduced our numbers.
Goals are for: athlete challenges, smiles, and safety… bring your noise makers.

Sask Sport Coach Dedication Award - Doug Sylvester
/Congratulations to our very own Doug Sylvester for being awarded the Coach Dedication Award with SaskSport!!! Doug has been the head coach for Biathlon Saskatchewan for 28 years. He has coached youth to masters… recreational to elite athletes. We are so grateful for his dedication to our sport! The awards gala will be at TCU Place in Saskatoon this Thursday evening. SWF Cup 3 and 4
/Qu'Appelle Valley Nordic Ski Club would like to invite you to SWF Cup #3 and 4 from January 21-22. This will be a nice tune-up for those planning to attend SWG or CWG, and a really fun event for the young and young-at-heart!
The race notice will provide you with all the details you need to know about the schedule and formats. A few highlights:
Saturday race:
Sprint format with interval start
Race office opens at 12:30
Zero from 1:00 to 1:45
Races kick off at 2:00
Sunday race:
Mass start format with wave starts
Race office opens at 9:30
Zero from 10:00 to 10:45
First wave of races kicks off at 11:00

NOTE: These will be additional SWG selection races for Prairie Central, particularly for those who were not able to attend the SWF cup races 1&2 on Dec 3&4 2022 at Blue Mountain.

2023 CWG Team Announcement
/2023 Canada Winter Games Team Announced
Biathlon Saskatchewan is proud to announce our 2023 Canada Winter Games Team slated to hit the trails (and targets) at the newly renovated Mark Arendz Biathlon Facility in Brookvale Prince Edward Island. (The park is aptly named after P.E.I.’s most famous biathlete.)

The team flies out of Regina Feb 17 with, the opening ceremonies Feb 18. Racing begins with the sprint on Feb 20, Pursuit Feb 21, Individual Feb 23, Single Mixed Relay Feb 24 and Mixed relay Feb 25

2023 CWG Selection Process
/We acknowledge that there is concern regarding Biathlon Saskatchewan SWF Cup race precedent relative to the official IBU Rules. Regarding the recent races in North Battleford, the Biathlon Saskatchewan Board of Directors determined that athletes will be assessed based on the Biathlon Saskatchewan Canada Winter Games Selection Criteria and generally accepted, traditional SWF Cup procedures and precedent.

Sun Dec 4 - Mass Start Race
-shooting 3 times for junior girls boys/girls and younger
- shooting four times for senior girls/boys and older
- penalty loops for misses
- zero 10:00 - Race at 11:00
- Bring your own rests
- we have four air rifle targets
- must be members of Biathlon Saskatchewan to participate
- Chalet is rented for the Saturday
- No need for Rock Skis
- cost is 30$ for weekend

QVN Epic Camp - August 19-21
/Get ready for an intense and fun few days of running, rollerskiing, shooting and games! QVN coaches will be joined by provincial coach Doug Sylvester for a great weekend of biathlon fun.
The .22 camp is geared for participants aged 12 through Masters, including any youth wishing to participate in Saskatchewan Winter Games or Canada Winter Games in 2023. The Air Rifle camp is designed for participants aged 8 through 11. In general, these camps are geared towards participants who have one or more seasons of biathlon experience already.
Biathlon Saskatchewan is purchasing a block of tickets to attend the Saskatchewan Roughriders football game after camp wraps up on Friday, August 19. Tickets are available to everyone, including camp participants, volunteers and parents on the registration form and will only be available for purchase until August 5 at noon. Registration for camp closes on August 17 at noon. Registration can be found here.

Biathlon Saskatchewan Development Team
/Biathlon Saskatchewan is excited to announce it has created a new Development Team for the 2022-2023 season. Designed specifically for biathletes aged 12 to 14, it will provide training and racing activities in a fun, team-based environment and will supplement training done with the athlete's home club. The Development Team will be led by Sheri Adams-Selinger.
More details can be found in the introduction flyer. Parents and interested athletes can attend a Zoom information session on Tuesday, May 3 at 7:00 to meet the coach, learn more about the Team and ask questions - please register for the information session here. If you have questions and are unable to attend, please contact Sheri directly.
Interested participants must complete the application form by May 10 and team selections will be communicated by May 17.
Provincial Championships - March 5 and 6 - QVN
/Biathlon Sask Provincial Championships will be held on March 5 and 6 at Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic. Click here for the race notice and more information.
QVN wishes to invite you to Biathlon Saskatchewan Provincials from March 5 to 6. This will be the first set of races used to select Saskatchewan's team for the Canada Winter Games, a nice tune up race for those attending Nationals, and a fantastic season wrap-up race for the province's younger athletes.
The race notice will provide you with all the details you need to know about the schedule, race formats and COVID protocols. A few highlights:
· COVID:
o Align to Biathlon Sask's recently approved changes
o Only athletes need to register
o No attestation or proof of double-vaccination or negative test required
o Clubhouse only available to event volunteers, who will be required to wear masks when indoors.
o Please do not come to the race if you are unwell.
· Saturday race:
o Sprint format with simultaneous wave start
o Race office opens at 12:30
o Zero from 1:00 to 1:45
o First wave of races kicks off at 2:00
· Sunday race:
o Mass start format with wave starts
o Race office opens at 9:30
o Zero from 10:00 to 10:45
o First wave of races kicks off at 11:00
